Taking a CHANCE: From Independent Brand to M&S Shelves

It's not every day that a business you've invested in lands a listing with one of the UK's biggest retailers. So, when we heard that CHANCE Clean Cider was heading into Marks & Spencer stores across the country, it was certainly a moment worth celebrating!
At SAVVY Collective, we've always believed in backing good people with great ideas. People who are passionate about what they do, willing to challenge the norm and ambitious enough to turn an idea into something much bigger.
And that's exactly what we saw in John Logue, founder of CHANCE Clean Cider.
CHANCE has reached a huge milestone, securing its first major supermarket listing with Marks & Spencer, launching in 323 stores across the UK and Ireland.
For John and the CHANCE team, this is an incredible achievement. For us at SAVVY Collective, it's also a very proud moment to see a business we've invested in take such a significant step forward.
Founded in 2024, CHANCE Clean Cider set out with a simple but ambitious mission: to change the way people think about alcohol-free cider.
Made using 100% British cider apples, CHANCE offers a full-flavoured alternative for those who want to enjoy a great cider without the alcohol.
And clearly, it's an idea that's resonating.
In just a couple of years, CHANCE has grown to more than 1,000 distribution points, secured national hospitality listings, and established itself as the bestselling British non-alcoholic cider on Amazon.
Now, with its arrival in M&S, the brand is reaching an entirely new audience.
Anyone who has built a business from the ground up will appreciate just how much work goes into getting to this point. Behind an announcement like this are countless conversations, meetings, setbacks, long days and a huge amount of determination.
It's easy to celebrate the big headlines, but it's the work that happens behind the scenes that makes moments like this possible.
And John deserves every bit of recognition for what he and his team have achieved.
Our investment pillar at SAVVY Collective is about much more than simply putting money into businesses.
It's about identifying opportunities, believing in the people behind them and being part of their journey as they grow.
We know that independent businesses have enormous potential, but we also know how difficult it can be to turn that potential into real growth.
Having the right people around you, the right connections and the right support can make a real difference.
That's what we want SAVVY Collective to be part of.
Our involvement with CHANCE reflects the type of businesses we believe in. An independent brand with a clear identity, a passionate founder and the ambition to do something different.
And seeing CHANCE progress from a growing independent drinks brand to securing shelf space in one of the UK's most recognised retailers is exactly the kind of journey we're proud to support.
Of course, this achievement belongs to John and his team. They're the ones putting in the work, building the relationships and driving the business forward.
But as investors, there's something incredibly rewarding about seeing a business you believe in achieve something of this scale.
It's a reminder of why we do what we do.
There's also a bigger story here about the opportunities available to independent brands.
The drinks industry is changing. More consumers are exploring alcohol-free alternatives, and retailers are responding.
According to The Grocer, non-alcoholic cider sales grew by 40.1% in value during 2025, with volumes increasing by 43.5%.
But growth in a market doesn't automatically mean success. You still need a great product, a clear vision and the determination to make it happen.
CHANCE is showing what's possible when those things come together, and we couldn't be prouder to be part of that journey.
A massive congratulations to John and the entire CHANCE team from everyone at SAVVY Collective.
Getting into M&S is a huge achievement, and knowing John's ambition, we're sure this is only the beginning.
Next time you're doing your M&S food shop, keep an eye out for CHANCE Clean Cider on the shelves!
